About Jacque LeBlanc

With more than a decade of experience in advertising, public relations and marketing, Jacque LeBlanc has held senior management positions helping many organizations and issues get the attention they deserve.

She has placed her clients in thousands of news and feature stories in U.S. and publications from the New York Times to USA Today, and has written columns for her clients in both of Hawaii's state daily newspapers.

She has secured and designed promotional opportunities from the filming of television programs at client’s resorts to national magazine sweepstakes featuring client’s products and properties.

She has directed national publicity programs for mega-resorts in Hawaii, and has directed a spectrum of special events from elegant fundraisers for 500 guests to the grand openings of spas, hotel towers, restaurants and luxury retailers.

In 2002, she left her career with PR and advertising agencies to work in the nonprofit sector. She worked for Hawaii's first, independent nonprofit "think tank" - a public policy institute, focused on a $2 million grant-funded health policy reform initiative to develop solutions to cover the medically uninsured. She led its community relations, media relations, market research and grant management efforts -- bringing national experts to Hawaii, gathering HMOs, state leadership including the Governor's policy team, labor organizations and the health care community around the issue of Hawaii's growing population of medically uninsured.

She later joined the Hawaiian Humane Society as its director of community relations. In this position, she served as its media spokesperson for the $5 million charity, and led its education and advocacy division focused on community and children's education, legislative and grassroots advocacy, volunteer activism, media strategy and messaging, public relations, advertising and nearly half a million dollars in event fundraising.

She continues to serve as a consultant to the Hawaiian Humane Society and Kauai Humane Society. Most recently, she was retained to lead organization-wide training of HHS' 60-person staff - training on delivery of core messages and quality customer interaction. She also was responsible for redesigning the community relations department: revamping job descriptions, realigning duties, as well as all recruitment, hiring, and training of the 7-person team.

From Sicily, she continues to serve as a special advisor to the ceo in program development and issues management, and as the voice for the Humane Society as an editor and mentor of staff on all communications released from the organization including newsletters, annual reports, brochures, and news and commentary for both Hawaii state dailies.

Adopted as an orphan by a U.S. Navy serviceman and his wife during the Vietnam War, she believes her life is a gift in which there is a special responsibility to live passionately, give generously and to lead through competent and quality service to others.

She lives in Nicolosi on the slopes of Monte Etna, Europe’s most active and largest volcano with her husband Rob and their pets—one cat and two dogs from Hawaii.
