Etna Storms the Sky!

It's Tuesday, 8 pm on September 4 in Sicily and 8 am in Hawaii. Our neighbor Maryellen called and asked me to step out into my backyard and face the volcano.

Here's what we saw. This is a bigger eruption than what we witnessed last spring.

A report from a friend near Giarre says that it's raining ash over her villa. Everyone is standing outside witnessing these huges streams of fire shooting straight up out of the volcano.

The wind is blowing away from Nicolosi so we're free and clear for now.

Maryellen expects that the airports will be closed until it's over.
